THE MB4.0 ORIGAMI BRIDGE
広島大学大学院の有尾一郎博士が、数年前に開発した『折りたたみ橋』が、今また海外のニュースなどで紹介されています。
この橋は、災害で橋が壊れた場合も、物資の輸送に支障を来さないために開発されました。
普段は折り畳んでおき、災害時等に伸ばして使用します。重量のある車両も通行可能です。
この橋の構造は折り紙にヒントを得て作られたそうです。

Recently, Mobile Bridge Version 4.0 (MB4.0), which Dr. Ichiro Ario at the Hiroshima University invented a few years ago, has been introduced again by foreign media.
It was invented to help transportation of emergency relief goods, when a disaster destroy bridges.
It can be folded for storage, and when a disaster happen it can be extended quickly. Heavy cars can easily pass through its surface.
