PREVENT CHILDREN’S FALLS
Falls of children from a balcony of a high-rise appartment building have increased. What can we do to prevent such accidents? Some facts
are thought as causes of the accidents. Children who live in high-rise appatment not tend to be afraid of a height. Children develop height feeling, comparing their eye height with distance from the ground. But in upper floors which are several tens of meters from the ground, children can see only distant view from their rooms,　having nothing to be compared with their eye level, so they have difficulty learning height feeling. This tendency is called “having no fear of heights”. It influences children’s judgment of dangerousness. Parents of such children had better take them outside and let them play on playground equipments. There’s other effective ways to prevent nasty fall:Not put things around a balcony and windows:An entrance of a balcony has to have double lock:Don’t let children alone specially during daylight.

子供の転落事故を防ぐ
高層階からの子供の転落事故が増えているそうです。これを防ぐためには、どうすべきでしょうか？いくつかの事が、このような事故の原因として考えられています。高層階に住む子供は高所を恐れない傾向があるそうです。子供は自分の目線の高さと、地面からの距離を見比べて、高所感覚を養っていきます。しかし、地上から数十メートルの高層階では、遠くの景色を部屋から見ることが出来るだけで、自分の目線と比較できるものがないため、高所感覚を身につけにくいと言われています。このような傾向は「高所平気症」と呼ばれています。高層階に住む家族の親は、子供をなるべく外の公園などに連れ出して、遊具などで遊ばせるようにした方が良いでしょう。（自分の身長
程の高さの遊具で遊んで、高所感覚を養うため。）他にも子供の転落事故の防止として、次の様なことがあります。ベランダや、窓際に物を置かない事。ベランダへの出入口の鍵を二重にする。特に日中、子供を一人にしない。iPhone$B$+$iAw?.(B
